Arman's Favourite Publications

Hey, I’m Arman, owner of Disko. I grew up working in my family’s stationery shop therefore developing an appreciation for paper and print from a very young age. I’ve been collecting magazines for years and I felt like it would pair really well with coffee. Here are some of my favourites.
1. Macguffin “The Life of Things” - this magazine has been around for years and is approaching their 15th issue. Each issue is an unconventional deep dive into the history of a mundane household object like the rug, desk, cabinet, chain, trouser to name a few. The articles are deep, insightful and are laid out beautifully from a graphic perspective
2. Apartamento - 300+ pages of incredible interviews with talented musicians, designers, painters, collectors, architects and more. Known for their candid, natural and unpolished style of photography, their imagery often captures real, lived in interiors and spaces, rather than overly staged photos that you often see in design and interior magazines. A staple in the indie mag world.
3. Mundial Mag - I’ve been a lifelong soccer fan, and this magazine perfectly encapsulates 90s and early 2000s soccer nostalgia. One of the best soccer magazines around.
4. A Rabbit’s Foot - a quarterly magazine all about film. Each issue centres around a specific theme like westerns, film noir, automobiles, love, politics, featuring essays, interviews and stunning photos. A must for film buffs.
