Like the Wind is a quarterly print magazine dedicated to exploring the culture, history and social issues endemic to the world of running. Our pages are filled with a diverse collection of stories about running, interwoven with stunning photography and illustrations. Every edition of the magazine contains words and images that will connect you to our mission to inspire a global community of like-minded runners who believe in the power of putting one foot in front of the other.

In issue 48 of Like the Wind, we escape onto the trails, track, roads and into the mountains, searching for freedom. Some find it by running far, some by running fast. Some form communities and break down the barriers to their own freedom. But we’re all looking for it.

Our feature story, A question of scale by Emma Cole, takes a deep dive into how races grow from grassroots to world-class events. In her view, a race’s success is ultimately about emotion: “The passion for racing comes down to how it makes us feel… We are all chasing that human feeling and I hope that never changes.”  And in our curated selection of stories, The rise of 200-milers, we explore the recent growth in ultras that push the edge of endurance to a place where reality breaks down – but it can be intoxicating.
