About Ten Poems:
Ten Poems is the first bilingual collection of nina rizzi’s poetry in both English and Brazilian Portuguese, co-published by PS Guelph and PS São Paulo. Across these poems, time and space fold into each other; history, fiction, and poetry merge and open paths toward another future.
nina rizzi is the author of several books of poetry in Portuguese including tambores pra n’zinga, sereia no copo d’água, diáspora não é lar, and the children’s books A Melhor Mãe do Mundo and Elza, A Voz do Milênio. She is also a renowned contemporary translator who has deftly handled the words of bell hooks, Alice Walker, and James Baldwin, to name a few, bringing their work to a Portuguese-reading public.
In this book, rizzi’s ten poems appear opposite their Portuguese counterparts in black and grey on creamy pages all wrapped in a gestural ink drawing by the book’s editor and designer, Steph Yates. The book features a foreword by Fernanda Meireles.

Where are we?
Disko is in Cambridge, Ontario. It's about an hour west of Toronto. We're specifically located in the Galt area, which is a beautiful old downtown with nice shops. It's worth the drive.
